Diagnose
$0.00

Not sure where to start ?

Diagnose is a focused audit of your current Ashby implementation. I review your configuration, workflows, data architecture, scheduling flows, and reporting setup, then deliver a written report and prioritized step by step plan so you know exactly what's working, what isn't, and what to fix first.

The fastest way to get clarity and move forward with confidence.

Launch

Building the foundation the right way from day one.

I act as your dedicated project and technical lead for the entire implementation. While I manage the project, I'm also designing and configuring everything underneath it: pipelines, workflow logic, automations, permissions structures, integrations, and analytics foundations built to scale.

For founders and first TA hires who want Ashby implemented properly the first time.

Optimize
$0.00

Already in Ashby but not getting what you expected?

Whether you inherited a half-built setup, outgrew your original configuration, or just know something isn't working, Optimize is a hands-on engagement to fix it. Cleaner data, smarter workflows, better reporting, and the structured hiring process that makes data meaningful.

For teams who are live but under-leveraged.

Ongoing Fractional Support
$0.00

Ashby isn't a set-and-forget system

Ashby ships new features at a pace most tools don't match. Fractional support keeps your environment clean, current, and high-performing as your team and Ashby evolve. Ongoing configuration support, data hygiene, and expert guidance on new features as they land; so nothing gets missed or falls behind.

For teams who want a specialist in their corner without the overhead of a full-time hire.

Work That Speaks For Itself

Building the Analytics Foundation for a High-Growth AI Infrastructure Company

I worked with leadership to define what needed to be tracked, then interviewed stakeholders across the business to understand what decisions the data needed to support. From there I audited the underlying data, identified where gaps needed to be addressed before reporting was possible, and designed and built six custom dashboards covering pipeline health, recruiting performance, hiring team capacity, executive reporting, data quality, and scheduling.

Every dashboard was rolled out with training so the team could use the data to answer real business questions and solve real problems. When one critical scheduling report couldn't be fully replicated in Ashby due to platform limitations at the time, I designed a structured workaround and a long-term roadmap to solve it properly as Ashby's scheduling features matured.

The result: a reporting infrastructure the team could rely on for decision-making, and a clear path forward as both the company and the platform evolved.

Accelerated ATS Implementation for a High-Growth Real Estate Technology Company

Opendoor needed to migrate from Lever to Greenhouse — with a Workday integration — in eight weeks. An engagement of this complexity would typically take sixteen to twenty-four weeks. I came in as both project manager and solutions designer — the hub between the Greenhouse implementation team and all internal stakeholders — keeping the project on schedule while making the critical design decisions that determined how the system would actually work.

The most important work happened in the room where stakeholders with competing priorities were trying to shape a system that had to serve everyone. I was the person who understood both what the technology could do and what it couldn't — and who could translate that into decisions that satisfied the business without compromising the integrity of the build.

The Workday integration added a layer of genuine technical complexity — data mapping, XML configuration, and navigating both HRIS Link and Workday Studio. This wasn't a clean API handshake. I led all of it, figuring out what I needed to figure out, and kept the timeline intact.

When the system went live, I didn't hand off and disappear. I rebuilt all documentation from the ground up to reflect the new processes, then designed and delivered training for both recruiters and hiring managers — making sure the team could actually use what we'd built.

Eight weeks. Lever to Greenhouse. Workday integration. Full enablement. On time.

Data Quality & Tech Stack Optimization for an Enterprise AI Writing Company

Grammarly had a reporting problem hiding in plain sight. They were using Gem on top of Greenhouse, but there was no shared structure, no data standards, and no organizational language around what the numbers meant. Five hundred reports. Everyone measuring things differently. No foundation to build on.

I came in with two connected mandates: build an analytics capability the organization could actually rely on, and fix the underlying data quality problems that would undermine any reporting built on top of it.

First, I audited all eight systems in their tech stack by examining every tool for data integrity, reporting capability, and gaps. I added missing fields, eliminated unnecessary ones, and simplified where complexity had crept in. The goal was to rebuild the foundation with analytics in mind, not as an afterthought.

Over six months, I transformed a fragmented, ungoverned data environment into a structured reporting capability — defining what the organization needed to measure, designing and building the reports, establishing a shared language around data, and putting guardrails in place so the 500-report problem couldn't happen again.

Whatever the business needed to know, I found a way to answer it.

Your Questions, Answered

What kind of companies do you typically work with?

Start-ups and small to mid sized companies under 1000 employees tend to be the best fit as they don’t generally have the internal resources to handle these projects themselves.

I don’t see a package for Analytics consulting; would you do that?

Yes — I've done analytics-only projects ranging from simple report and dashboard builds to full data quality evaluations.

Do you do ongoing engagements?

Availability permitting, yes.

Darren Bagnall, Recruiting Operations Consultant

About Me

I've been building recruiting infrastructure for over twenty years. I've implemented, configured, and worked around more applicant tracking systems than I can count — Taleo, Jobvite, Lever, Greenhouse, and so many integrations.

After decades in this industry I've seen what separates the implementations that scale from the ones that become technical debt. It's rarely the platform. It's the data architecture, the workflow logic, the data foundations, and the change management that determines whether a team actually adopts the system.

That's why I focus exclusively on Ashby and Greenhouse. These are the two platforms I've seen consistently deliver for ambitious TA teams. I'm an Ashby Partner, and I've worked inside both platforms at a level that goes beyond configuration — I understand how they're designed to work, where teams get stuck, and how to build something that actually lasts.

I'd love to talk about what we can build together.
